1) What are you most looking forward to next semester?
Next semester I am most looking forward to my better classes unlike this freshman seminar class. I also am looking forward to some different professors, in which some I don't like right now.
2) What advice do you have for incoming Freshmen next Fall?
My advice for incoming freshmen for next fall is to, not fall behind and lack any homework. Also, to get out and do study groups, in which I only did once.
P.S. Kelly, i was just kidding for the first one. haha :)

1) What are you most stressed-out with at the moment? Why? Is your body re-acting to this stress? Devise a plan to deal with it. (Who do you turn to when you are stressed?)
The main thing that I'm most stressed out with at the moment is the fact I think I do fine on tests or that I do great, and sometimes I do but sometimes I don't and sometimes I don't understand. Then many times I have looked over the quizzes and tests and many of them have been dumb errors. In math the other day we only had a little but to do a whole quiz because Prof Hetler was teaching until the final 20 min and then the next class was there. So she was like finish up now. I was mad and made dumb errors and got many wrong because I was in a very big hurry and guessed on the last one. It's not that I'm really stressed h/e, it's just side things that make me slightly mad or w/e. No, my body is not re-acting to this stress. (That I know of) I just go to my friends and sometimes my mom or dad if I need help or that if I'm stressed.

What do you have in common (academically, personally, etc..) with the classmate whose Blog you chose? Did s/he offer any useful information you will most likely use in the future?
What Alex and I have in common is that we both love the outdoors and many things like that. Academically, we both failed a test in which we both had the same exact problem. So, i guess it puts us being in common with one another. He and I didn't exchange any other info that we would use in the future.

What do you feel this course (UN100) should focus on? What do you need help in, specifically?
I believe that this course should focus on the same things that we are right now. I have learned study techniques and ways to learn better. I don't really have any other focuses that this class needs. What do I need help in? (academically) I have used everything that has been in class and I have used that in other classes which have helped me. I think that I don't need much or any help. It's just comprehending the info into the brain and not forgetting the information and getting test anxiety when the test comes. (Like I do every test) I know the information, it's just the way it is shown on quizzes, how it's pointed to and the fact I just get lost. Although I am catching on, it's been difficult due to being (lost).

Ø Describe your ideal Instructor/Professor.
A: My ideal professor would be giving daily quizzes on everyone bout the stuff learned in class that day and have it worth just a few points...
Ø “I knew it when I studied it, but I forgot it on the test.” How can students study differently to prevent this from happening?
A: Students can prevent this from happening by studying with other people and writing it down... It sticks to your brain better and it's more fun to study with at least one other person preferably your best friend.
Ø How do you study for quizzes/tests?
A: I study by taking notes, reading the chapter over/scanning through it and taking study quizzes with my gf.
Ø What do you have trouble with on quizzes/tests?
A: I have trouble when I have to draw something or explain it, because tests kinda scare me. haha
Finally - Do you feel as if there is any healthy fast food available to consumers? If so, where and why? Give specific examples of products.. Please be honest and support your opinions. For example, I feel that Subway's Veggie Sub is healthy due to its freshly-cut produce, cheese, and "fresh-baked" breads. I actually talked to a friend who works at Subway and he said in MQT, they slice their own produce. (My fear was that it arrived pre-sliced and filled with preservatives). It's not organic, but it's a start.
A: Since I haven't explored any other fast food places that are not around here, I don't know. The way it seems is that there is no true healthy but there is some salads and foods that come close and that I would say is perfectly fine to eat on a daily basis....

List your own quote, favorite saying, song, or other expression of your feelings today
I dont have any...
List initial observations of your new environment.
I think its pretty much the same...(as highschool - just less classes)
List initial observations of your classes.
They are loaded with people and more independent.
What observations have you made about other students?
None really, I haven't observed other students
About your instructors?
They are all alright, T. Froiland is very unique/ cramming info in you so quickly, and so far my coolest teacher is K. Simon. But there is a difference in classes so that would probably explain why Kelly is my fav so far..
What do you think will be your biggest challenge(s) academically this semester?
Anatomy and lab with froiland!
Reiterate a term or concept you learned in Anatomy this week.
I knew them all because i've had anatomy for the last 3 years, but one that I slightly forgot is Supine and Prone - Prone is Anterior surface down (belly up) and Supine is Anterior surface up (lying on back).
List a few pleasant events that happened during your first weeks at NMU.
Havent had any events yet...
List habits you already possess that make you successful in college.
Taking notes... but need for more studying..
List habits (timewasters?) you can change or modify, or need to lose.
Not as much sports but that'll be a major challenge and blackjack either at the casino or on pogo..
Explain how you determine what to write down in notes during lectures.
If the instructure says it is important or if I think is is important..
Based on your first readings in the TCB text, describe the differences between Active Learning & Passive Learning (reading, note-taking, etc..) - Passive is learning w/o trying to learn. Active learning would be taking notes and trying to learn.
Based on your first readings in the BT text, list TWO of favorite quotes and explain why they "speak" to you. -1. "It seemed like there was sooo much more free time in college than in hs. - until I realized that it isnt 'free' you're supposed to be studying! It's just that theres no one there to tell you to....." The reason why they speak to me is because there is more free time for me but I need to do more time management because i'm suppose to be studying and not watching sports. 2. "The biggest difference between hs. and college is the amount of reading. It's impossible to catch up if you get behind." I've gotten behind slightly and it's been very hard unlike in hs. I could catch up easily.
Finally, name one goal (personal, academic, etc..) you have for yourself next week. - To study well and get decent grades on quizzes and exams.
